By the beautiful sea. I am in Akumal, Mexico, unexpectedly, the recipient of a wonderful gift. Here to hang out with my daughter who is turning 23 on Sunday. Akumal is a fishing village on the Yucatan peninsula, south of Cancun, with a dive shop, restaurants, stores and a little gallery. People here are for the most part sweet-tempered and happy, the kind of happiness that spills into joking and teasing. Here is a blog I wrote a few years ago, still true:
