Famous Fossil Fireside Red

Just did this new label for Famous Fossil Vineyard & Winery in Freeport, Illinois. Pam and Ken Rosmann have an organic, beautiful vineyard where they grow cold climate grape varieties. The winery was built using innovative green technology and local craftsmen with a Prairie School style of architecture and feel. Beautiful wood, clean lines, warmth, a view of the vineyard . . .
The design process started with a color, Frank Lloyd Wright Red. More specifically, Pantone 1797. I came across an old friend from The San Antonio Light who has a design firm named after the color, 1797 Creative. I made a Pantone 1797 square, it looked like a fireplace, a few lines from a piece of stained glass expanded into etching in the stone and there you have it. Drawing the lines made me a bit crazy because I didn't want to make the printer crazy so they had to be very precise. It's excellent wine, by the way.

Nancy... I LOVE this ! You are so talented and I envy that. It's very Frank Lloyd Wright looking.. I really love his designs. Sometime I need to go to the winery. Of course when I lived not all that far.. didn't get there.
Can the wine be purchased around here any place ? xoxoox

  5. Thank you! It's a small batch winery so they only sell from there and a few shops in the area. The licensing for each state is very expensive . . . but go if you can!
